Goodpasture Covered Bridge

This is an HDR capture of the Goodpasture Covered Bridge just off Highway 126 near Vida, Oregon.  At 165 feet, it is the longest span covered bridge still in operation.  Heavy overgrowth on both banks of the McKenzie River make for an interesting trek to photograph this 73 year old structure.

Proxy Falls

This is Proxy Falls located in the Three Sisters Wilderness area of the Willamette National Forest.  If Multnomah is the tallest waterfall in Oregon then Proxy has to be the most photographed and for good reason.  A constant drizzle made this shot especially difficult.  I can assure you that manipulating a tripod, camera in full manual mode, and an umbrella is no easy task.

Multnomah Falls

This is Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge.  At 620 feet, it's the second tallest waterfall in the United States and a nightmare to photograph with a single shot.  That's why it took three stitched images to create and perhaps even more stitches to visit.  In 1995, a 400 ton boulder fell from the face and made a 70 foot splash that caused minor injuries to a wedding party that was being photographed on the bridge.

The Bucz's

Check out this budding family. Easton is most definately a baseball player, but he better not mind playing catch with a softball when little Zadie arrives.

Sometimes things are just Black and White...

Here's Camryn. He seems more interested in me than his vintage '50s Popeye pop out windup. Trying out a new technique here with color isolation inside a fixed space ie. the picture frame.

Portland

This is Portland. Home of the Trailblazers, excellent IPA's, and of course, these geese. They must have been enjoying the same view I was. Can you blame them?

This was shot was taken near the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, capturing both the Willamette River and the Hawthorne Bridge.

Reflection

This is an HDR shot of Oregon's Mt. Hood as seen from Lake Trillium. Visibility was amazing that day, but that also equals less drama in the sky ie. no clouds! However, with no cloudcover came no wind which created this perfect reflection shot.

It's my Birthday

This is Josie and she just turned one. Ah, yes, the days of keeping track of here age in months are waining. Before you know it she'll be asking for the keys to Dad's truck and going on dates. Just make sure your firearms in need of a good cleaning when that doorbell rings, Tim.

Ottawa Cruise Night

These are some HDR shots from my local town's classic cruise night. Some of these are quite tight because of the crowd. It seemed everyone was either eager to be photographed or ruin my shot. However, I couldn't resist the two young girls gawking at the purple Mustang. I especially like the reflection of the Corvette in the side of the black Lincoln Zephyr.  My personal favorite has to be the beautiful blue Plymouth 440 GTX.

Barnstormin'

These are a couple HDR shots of a few old barns just south of Seneca, IL on Rt. 170. As you can see, the first barn was erected in 1912 and is still currently in the Maier family. The second barn has some very cool geometric shapes in the architecture. It may be in need of a coat of paint, however.

Hi! I'm new here...

Meet Jordyn Renee. She's quite the little spark plug. She's allowing mom to do the disciplining of Milo for licking me her out of her slumber, at least for now. Soon that tiny little hand is gonna be grasping a wad of his fur and startling him from a nap. Karma.

Flower Power

Camryn has developed quite the green thumb over the past 5 months. I know, I think he's ahead of the gardening curve. He insists it's all about what you put in so he's always watering and pulling weeds. He has even enlisted his dog, Ellie Maye, to help. He's hoping to place nationally for his rose bushes.

Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls

This is a pseudo HDR shot of Sahalie Falls in the Willamette National Forest. This baby was raging from heavy rainfall and snow melt runoff from the western Cascade mountains. I found out the hard way that all national forest roads aren't winter maintained when I rounded a bend and ran straight into a foot deep snow drift. Thankfully the rental was a Jeep so I popped it into 4 wheel and doubled back to civilization. That misstep cost me an hour and the first two periods of Hawks-Canucks game 7. Brutal but worth it, wouldn't you say?

It's Always Sunny in Philly

It's always sunny in Philadelphia, except at night, of course. This is a shot of the Philly skyline as seen from the Spring Garden St. bridge over the Schuylkill River.

Dorena Covered Bridge

These are a few HDR shots of the Dorena covered bridge just outside Cottage Grove, Oregon. The bridge was built in 1949 and completely restored in 1996.

Already Bleeding Cubbie Blue

Here's a couple more shots of my son, Camryn. Not even 3 months old and already setting himself up for a lifetime of disappointment and turmoil.

As you can see in the second picture, he's quite excited about this upcoming season, although I'm not sure why. Maybe he got some inside information about Pena bouncing back this year from his bookie.

And of course, sporting a 'hawk in a tribute to one of his favorite Cubs.
