On a recent business trip to Oregon, I had the pleasure to stay on the coast. I decided to drive up US-101, commonly referred to as the Pacific Coast Highway. The stretch that I embarked upon ran about 50 miles between the towns of Florence and Newport. As the afternoon wore on I stopped at Haceda Head lighthouse and decided this was where I wanted to catch the sunset.

A Picture is Worth a....
Welcome to any and all who have stumbled upon Thousand Words Photography. My name is Adam Chapman and I have a problem.
You see, I don't view the world like most people do. Moments of beauty, majesty and grandeur simply can not be enjoyed without my crutch, fix, or drug. I need to be under the influence in order to really appreciate the moment and even then I'm so lost in the haze, it often passes me by.
However, it's not the bottle, pipe, or needle that calls to me. It's the lens. While most people are perfectly content to sit and watch the western sun listlessly drift beneath the Pacific's gaze, I can't. Some say I'm incapable of appreciating true beauty in the moment as I endlessly struggle with a menagerie of tripods, lenses, remotes and settings. But to me, capturing the essence of the moment with my lens is beautiful, but I digress.
I am a mostly natural light photographer specializing in high dynamic range landscapes. I'm constantly working to build my portfolio and hone my skills in other areas. I love shooting new subjects and bringing attention to aspects of a scene that many might miss. Enought about me, your here to see some photography right?
